Mr. Merz is a senior vice president and asset manager for KBS. Mr. Merz serves as the market leader responsible for carrying out investment objectives in the Dallas Ft. Worth area on behalf of KBS REIT, pension fund and sovereign wealth fund clients. Within these markets, Mr. Merz is responsible for execution of strategic business plans for each owned property with a focus on achieving cash flow yields, occupancy and leasing, the overall performance of the assets, as well as identifying new acquisitions and dispositions. His portfolio consists of eight assets containing approximately 2.9 million square feet plus a 309 unit multi-family high-rise development. Prior to being assigned the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, Mr. Merz had similar responsibilities in other markets throughout the central region including Chicago, St. Louis and Kansas City among others.
Prior to KBS, Mr. Merz worked with CBRE, The Staubach Company and Cresa Partners. There he consulted for both local and national clients on a wide variety of strategic real estate objectives. Mr. Merz completed his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and finance with an emphasis in real property management and development from the University of Southern California.
