The North Central Region of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International announced that seven commercial properties have won the regional competition for The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY®) Award. The North Central Region includes Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio.

In the commercial real estate industry, the TOBY Awards are the highest recognition honoring excellence in building management and operations, awarded in specific categories of building type or size. All regional winners initially won at the local level after thorough building inspections and a rigorous written application process.  Regional applicants were evaluated on tenant relations, community impact, energy conservation efforts, commitment to environmental sustainability, emergency preparedness, staff experience, and continuing education opportunities for team members.

The regional winners will now advance to the international competition. International winners will be announced on June 30, 2026, during the TOBY Awards Program and Banquet as part of the BOMA 2026 International Conference & EXPO in Long Beach, California.

“We commend our seven regional TOBY winners for exemplifying the highest standards of excellence in commercial real estate,” said Suzanne Boryscka, President of the BOMA North Central Region and Senior General Manager for Lincoln. “These teams demonstrateoutstanding leadership in building operations, tenant engagement, and emergency readiness, culminating in achieving property management excellence for building tenants and ownership. Their accomplishments reflect the strength of our region, and we are thrilled to see them represent the North Central Region on the international stage this year at the BOMA Annual Conference in Long Beach.”
