Mr. Hamagiwa is a vice president and asset manager for KBS. Mr. Hamagiwa serves as the market leader responsible for carrying out investment objectives throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Northeastern United States on behalf of KBS REIT, pension fund and sovereign wealth fund clients. Within these markets, Mr. Hamagiwa is responsible for the execution of strategic business plans for each of the assets within his portfolio along with new acquisition opportunities and joint-venture partnerships.
Since joining KBS in 2016, Mr. Hamagiwa has led the acquisition and disposition of more than 1.7 million square feet of assets with a transactional value of more than $300 million. He also oversaw the Midwest portfolio for KBS encompassing 3.7 million square feet across 7 assets. Mr. Hamagiwa currently oversees a portfolio of 9 Class A properties within the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia), Chicago and Philadelphia markets totaling over 2.9 million square feet.
Prior to KBS, Mr. Hamagiwa worked at Buchanan Street Partners where he focused on acquisition and asset management efforts within California, Nevada and Texas across various asset types, including office, flex, multifamily and medical office. Mr. Hamagiwa began his career at Champion Real Estate Company, a Los Angeles based owner and developer before also spending time at Summerhill Apartment Communities, where he focused on ground-up multifamily and mixed-use development.
Mr. Hamagiwa graduated from Biola University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and earned a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
